The latest Energy Star fixture from MaxLite is the first to use their newly qualified 32 Watt Energy Star GU24 Bulb. The Warm White bulb produces 2200 lumens making it equivalent to a 120 Watt Incandescent. This makes for a bright and very attractive ceiling fixture.

By using recycled mercury in the manufacture of their Compact Fluorescent bulbs MaxLite is taking one more step in protecting the environment. Now instead of the bulbs going into the landfill, and depositing their mercury, the bulbs are recycled, the mercury extracted and the mercury put back into new bulbs. The circle of manufacture is closed and the mercury is contained.

In summary, the Act is setting efficacy standards for incandescent light bulbs. These new standards will effectively phase out incandescent light bulbs between 40 and 205 watts and especially target incandescent reflectors which have low efficacy numbers.
